Imola in Musica is renewed for the 26th edition and offers a rich program of events, all with free admission including the concert at dawn on Sunday, August 28 with Tempio Sonoro – Viaggio tra i grandi successi della film music.

Cinema and music on the gullies: evenings on the hills of Bologna

“Music Roots” is the title of the film festival sponsored by the Cineteca di Bologna curated by Roy Menarini, with music as the theme of the proposal, scheduled every Thursday evening in August at 22.00 at Fienile Fluò (via di Paderno, 9) as part of Scena Natura, the multidisciplinary festival of theater, cinema, dance, music and immersive experiences in the landscape scheduled until 16 September. It starts on August 4 with Motel Woodstock of Ang Lee (2009). On Thursday, August 11, the cult Quadrophenia by Franc Roddam (1979), taken from the homonymous album by the Who, who were its producers. Thursday, August 18 Mo’ Better Blues by Spike Lee (1990). On August 25, Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho (2021), a hybrid of horror, thriller and psychological drama set in the legendary Swingin’ London of the sixties. Admission to the individual screenings is € 5, with the possibility of buying a booklet of access to all 4 films on the bill at a cost of € 15.

Saturday, August 13 will take place the last screening scheduled for this film festival with  “Doctor Strangamore, or how I learned not to worry and love the bomb” (Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Great Britain/1964) by Stanley Kubrick.

Trips out of town, festivals and flavors

In Granaglione the 35th edition of the Festival of true mountain tortellone (6-7 August) and the 45th Festival of handmade nettle tagliatella (13-14 August). Then the traditional Polenta Festival in Farnè-Lizzano in Belvedere (13 August), the Tortellino Festival in Camugnano (13 August), the Lasagna Festival in Molino del Pallone di Granaglione-Alto Reno Terme (14 August), the Ortica Festival in Malalbergo (25-28 August, 1-8 September) and the Potato Festival in Tolè-Vergato (25 September). Finally, the Festa del Mirtillo in Lizzano (20-21 August).

At the Azienda Agricola Biodinamica Al di Là del Fiume, via S. Martino 10, in Marzabotto there will be for four nights the apericena Tramonti Di Vini. The days 3,10, 17 and 14 August, live music, biodynamic wine, food at km 0, in the picturesque setting of the Park of Monte Sole.

At Parco Acque Minerali, via Kennedy, in Imola, four days of non-stop music, concerts, shows, typical food, inflatables for children and beer rivers. From 3 to 6 August, with opening from 18 late at night.

Free admission to the art gallery

Sunday 7 August 2022 the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna and Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande will be open with free admission. The Pinacoteca from 10.00 to 19.00 and Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande from 10.00 to 14.00. An excellent opportunity to see these two treasures of Bologna.
